Thank you for visiting my Tom Hardy website. I am a relatively new fan and appreciate your support or at least the time you are taking to read this 🙂
Around 4-5 months, or so, ago I stumbled across TABOO on amazon during my winter break. I had seen trailers before, but couldn’t bring myself to watch it yet, though I was definitely intrigued. But that one fateful day I decided to finally watch it, I couldn’t decide for myself whether James Delaney was a good guy or a bad guy and I found that pretty interesting for amain character and new in a TV series. I was impressed an actor could leave me right in the middle. I pretty much binged the show within a few days and by the end still didn’t know what to think. Good guy or bad guy? To cut this short, after my amazement that I had never heard of Tom (I KNOW!), I ended up spending a month watching all there was to watch of his, and being utterly fascinated by his obvious talent and my ignorance towards his existence all these years.
To my defense, I actually had seen him in THIS MEANS WAR and even remembered being utterly dumbfounded Chris Pine ended up with the girl, even though it was obvious Tuck was the nicer guy and better choice.
Anyhow. There is lots of information out there about Tom and I have to admit I found it quite confusing.
There is one thing about him I know for sure though. TOM HARDY LOVES DOGS. And so do I. This website is mainly for me to make sense of Tom and the wonderful human being and actor he seems to be.
I don’t know if I should attribute this to him being such a good actor or just me being unable to “read” him but I keep wondering who the real Tom is. Which is kinda cool, I guess. The only thing I know is, that he is damn talented – and that he loves dogs.
I saw a quote that was attributed to him that kinda broke my heart though:
I like to be other people, not me. And when you are on the red carpet it’s like ‘Here’s Tom Hardy’. I don’t want to be me. That’s why I play other people.
This could have been taken out of context and be a reference to how he approaches acting and his roles. At least that’s what I hope, because from what I have read about Tom, he seems to be a pretty wonderful guy and he should have every reason wanting to be himself. But then there is that bit again, where I find him confusing.
So basically this site is my quest of finding the “real” Tom Hardy. While it might be as futile as the quest for the holy grail, I think I will enjoy the journey, not matter what the result will be 🙂
Thanks for reading.
